DaVinci Reolve from BlackMagic Design happens to be the worlds leading System for Colour Correction and Colour Grading.

DaVinci Systems introduced its first Colour Correction System called The Wiz back in the early 1980s and it was a hardware oriented Analogue Colour Correction System.

In the mid 80s DaVinci introduced its popular Colour Correction System called DaVinci Classic which was a combination of a Computer and Hardware Systems and an External Control Unit. This was a phenomenal hit in the Television and Feature Film Industry.

DaVinci Renascence soon followed in the early 90s with better Hardware and Computer Systems as it was available back in those days. Colour processing still was done in an Analogue method.

Mid 90s saw the introduction of DaVinci Resolve Renascence 888, significant improvement being addition of Digital Colour Processing over Analogue Colour Processing.

Late 90s saw the introduction of DaVinci Resolve 2k and 2K Plus which addressed the requirement of Colour correction of High Definition Video and works with 2k resolution. This resembled the present day working conditions.

Meanwhile DaVinci Systems was taken over by BlackMagic Design and when the DaVinci Resolve was launched in early 2000s it was soon to set path for a Next Generation Colour Correction and Colour Grading System that will become the leader among Colour Correction and Colour Grading Systems worldwide.

• Applications and Usage:

DaVinci Resolve happens to be the forerunner among feature film colouring and colour grading software available in the marketplace today. It it the most widely used colouring software used for colouring and colour grading of feature films worldwide. The main advantage of this software other than having the most advanced colour correction suits is that its compatible with EDLs of the leading Non Linear Edit Systems in the world like Final cut, Avid, Première Pro.

DaVinci Resolved when it was launched as a Software platform in 2004 moving away from Hardware and Analogue Colour Correction of the 1980s and 1990s the software was mainly developed keeping colouring and colour grading in mind. But gradually over a decade it has evolved to become a full fledged Post Production suite which encompass the fields of Non Linear Editing alongside Colour Grading and Colour Correction which happens to be its core functionality. • Software Architecture and System Requirements:

DaVinci Resolve happens to be the most resource intensive software programme available out there when it comes to the field of Audio and Video so careful considerations should be made before running DaVinci Resolve. Unlike the DaVinci Lite, DaVinci resolve has some dedicated Hardware AddOns and the main unit happens to be the Resolve Control Interface. Other than the proprietary hardware console you need professional Hi Rez Dual Monitor Display Systems to support your work flow. To have a proper working comfort level with DaVinci Resolve you can’t depend on traditional Magnetic Hard Drives that are used in Desktops. You need to install Solid State Disc Hard Drives or have access to powerful NAS or powerful SAN systems. If you run on traditional Hard Drives the speed will be not sufficient enough to give you real time preview and playback of the RAW files on which you will be working on.
