Asperger’s is one of five neurobiological pervasive developmental disorders (PDD) that is characterised by deficiencies in social and communication skills. It is a high functioning form of autism. Children with high functioning autism or Asperger’s syndrome often lack social skills and sometimes have problems with motor regulation. However, their language and cognitive skills are significantly intact. In most of the circumstances, the children may also lack the ability to understand the perspectives and feelings of others.
