Description

The APM PMQ - Project Management Qualification (formerly APMP certification) 5-day Project Management course takes delegates from entry to management level qualification.

Becoming APM accredited?

By being accredited under the APM training route you are setting yourself a clear pathway to obtaining a potential chartered status, as APMP / APM PMQ qualification is a prerequisite for this. The APM (PMQ) 5-day course covers both APM entry and management level accreditation.

APM project Management Qualification (PMQ) - Formerly APMP project management qualification APM PMQ – 4-day classroom course

The APM Project Management Qualification (APM PMQ – formerly APMP course) is a 5-Day classroom course. It is equivalent to IPMA level D and SCQF level 7 in project management accreditation. This is the ideal next step for candidates that already hold the APM PFQ qualification as this expands on the entry level APM qualification by providing a practical application to the concepts learned in PFQ. However APM PFQ is not a pre-requisite for this APMP Course/APM PMQ Qualification.

General content for the APM PMQ course

The 5 - day SPOCE APM PMQ course is a much more practical application of project management techniques and takes a closer look at the strategy and commercials involved, such as: conflict management, cost management, sponsorship, value management, negotiation, leadership teamwork and procurement.

The APM PMQ Exam / APMP Exam

10 questions (from a choice of 15) for this 3-hour exam which will be sat at the end of the 5-day course. If candidates have ever been PRINCE2® Practitioner qualified then they can opt to take a shorter, 2-hour APM PMQ exam for PRINCE2® Practitioners.

APM (APMP certification) training and the route to chartered status

The first step to having chartered status is to become an APM member. This, in itself, does not qualify you for chartered status, but it is part of the qualifying process. To apply for chartered status, you need to be a member of the APM. In turn, to become a member of the APM, you need to be APM PMQ qualified.

Achieving APM project management chartered project professional status

Once a member, you can apply for APM chartered status. The entry process is a rigorous peer review, CPD (Continuous Professional Development) commitment and adherence to a strict code of professional conduct.

The benefits of APM Project Management accreditation

Sitting your 5-day APM PMQ course with SPOCE provides you with a clear and progressive structure for your project management career. The benefits are many but the three most primary are:

Reliability - with SPOCE Project management you can guarantee world class support and training to take you through your qualification and future career.

Reputation – for APM, the accolade of becoming a chartered body is a hard won honour and for SPOCE with our 25 year history, a reputation for being one of the longest standing training organisations in the industry.

Recognition – the one and only route to achieving chartered project professional status is by becoming APM accredited. Chartered status is kudos for project management as an industry and you as an individual.

The attainment of accreditations offered by professional bodies such as the Association for Project Management (APM) / APMP UK is increasingly seen as a recognised indicator of competence in project management.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
