Instructor Bios

Lauren Slade BC Ref Dip MH CMR CRI CBS Lauren Slade is a business-women fascinated with alternative medicine and holistic healing modalities. She was born in London, England where she was educated in many healing arts including Reflexology, Herbs, Homeopathy, Massage Therapy and Aromatherapy. Working in private practice for over 35 years has been a source of joy and delight for her as she has watched clients with a wide range of conditions.

Lauren moved to Canada and founded the Universal College of Reflexology in 1991. She has taught and coached 1,000’s of students around the world about Reflexology, Traditional Japanese Reiki, Herbs, Dowsing, Meditation, Aromatherapy and Crystals to mention just a few of her favourite subjects. She loves discovering different ways of integrating simple, easy and natural solutions into everyday healthcare, such as how Reflexology can be used to alleviate a wide variety of ailments from anti-aging, stress relief to pain management.

Peter Caughey is a doctor of traditional Chinese, Medicine a teacher and a writer. He has a Bachelors of Health Science Degree in Acupuncture and Diplomas in Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine, Qigong and Taiji Quan and Tuina from the New Zealand School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which he received in 2001. He was a Tutor at the New Zealand School of Acupuncture and TCM from 1999 – 2013, where he designed and taught the Qigong Diploma Course as well as teaching Traditional Chinese Medical Qigong principles, theory and techniques. He currently serves as a member on the World Academic Society of Medical Qigong based in China.

Peter has been running Taiji Retreats for over 17 years, based on Traditional Chinese Monastery philosophies and teaching weekly Qigong and Taiji classes for the same number of years. Making his teachings available to as many people as possible, he has online courses teaching Qigong exercise systems, Reflexology and Qigong and TCM courses for specific conditions such as Insomnia, Stress, and how to quiet a busy mind. He runs Qigong Teacher Trainings Courses, Acupressure and Reflexology courses as well as Medical Qigong Workshops and TCM Health Retreats around the World.
