Overview
The Level 2 AED and CPR course provides learners with skills to further their first aid training. It is recommended for first aiders in the workplace environment who have access to a defibrillator. A person's chance of survival falls by about 7% for each minute that passes without defibrillation. The risk of death can be reduced if you have a defibrillator in your workplace and know how to use it. (No previous first aid knowledge is needed to attend an AED and CPR course.

- The roles and responsibilities of a first aider
- Understanding the basic life support requirements
- Understanding the safe use of an automated external defibrillator
- How to demonstrate basic life support techniques and automated external defibrillator use in line with current national guidelines
- How to demonstrate post-resuscitation procedures
- How to carry out basic user maintenance and troubleshoot problems with an automated external defibrillator
Who is this course for?
If you are interested in furthering your emergency first aid skills, or already take part in an organised first aid scheme, then this course would suit you. If you are a health care worker then this course will serve as a basic module.
