Overview

This course is scheduled to be delivered at offices close to the City. For London courses, we use prestigious offices between Bank and St Pauls Underground stations. In Edinburgh and Birmingham, we use a hotel close to the city centre.

Description

Day 1

Principles of training - we review the approaches to learning and development and how these are implemented in the workplace.

Describe behavioural personality using Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) in a training context - delegates undertake MBTI questionnaire and relevant feedback.

We identify the skills needed by competent trainers to train.

We define the structure and key elements for effective training delivery.

Describe effective questioning skills and answering techniques - including the use of open, rhetorical and reasoning techniques. The 4-part reasoning method is practised to take delegates skill sets to a new level.

Practise delivery using skills and techniques taught.

Day 2

What we have learnt so far - consolidation using lesson delivery techniques.

Use of visual aids - efficient use of PowerPoint and Flipchart.

Managing behaviour - describe how to manage behaviour in a training session.

Course design - essential elements are discussed including the training cycle concerning the System Approach to Training (SAT).

Evaluation - the Kirkpatrick model of evaluation to ensure training is working.

Day 3

Introduction to 1-2-1 training - overview of the structure and key aspects.

Description of the B.O.D process - essential elements of Brief, Observe & Debrief process.

Virtual and IT-based delivery - critical areas are discussed and explained.

Assessed sessions and 1-2-1 feedback.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
