What is Adobe Illustrator?
Adobe Illustrator is a vector graphics editing application. It is used by graphics designers and artists to create and edit vector images. The application can be used to develop and produce photo-realistic drawings, infographics, drawn illustrations and logos.

Course Content
This module is designed using Adobe Illustrator and will give the learners both the knowledge and confidence in techniques such as vector drawing concepts, layers and masks, how to use tools and work with brushes, symbols, graphic styles, and patterns. The learners will be able to demonstrate knowledge of preparing graphics for web, print, and video, Communicate with others (such as peers and clients) about design plans and standard copyright rules for artwork, graphics, and graphic use.

Assessment Methods
You will be assessed by one exam Adobe Certified Associate in Illustrator using Adobe Illustrator CS6. Please note the exam whilst inclusive in the cost must be sat at Newcastle College, Rye Hill Campus, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Who is this course for?
19+ year olds who are confident and competent in computer skills and have a specific interest in a career in photography, print design, web design, interactive designers and video professionals. The objectives within this course cover entry-level skill expectations for graphic design and illustration therefore there is no prior experience of design required.
