The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping (Level 2) is the second level of courses that the AAT offer in the practice of bookkeeping. It will give you a firm knowledge in further bookkeeping procedures, helping you on your way to becoming an independent bookkeeper and earning more money through more lucrative opportunities in the bookkeeping industry.

The AAT Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping delivers the skills and essential knowledge to manage books effectively. It will also provide a foundation for manual double entry bookkeeping and associated documents and processes up to Trial Balance standard which is a statement of all debits and credits in a double-entry account book.

The course is focussed on giving you real-world knowledge that you can use in your professional career, alongside award-winning AAT principles which are recommended by 97% of full members.

How is it assessed?

In order to achieve this qualification, students are required to pass two computer based assessments.

In preparation for these assessments, there are progressive tests that run throughout the course along with the model answers for self-assessment. At the end of the learning, students should refer to the AAT website for two further practice exams.
