Job Title: z/OS System Programmer
Location: Sheffield (Hybrid - 2/3 days per week)
Contract Type: Inside IR35
Client: Financial Services
Duration: 6 months initially (Long-term project potential)

About:
We are working with a a consultancy focused on Digital Transformation, Big Data & Cloud Solutions, Cybersecurity Strategies, and leveraging AI/ML for innovation. They also offer Managed Services.

Skills Required:

  • z/OS Operating System: Experience in upgrading, maintaining, and supporting.
  • ISV Products: Experience with products from IBM and Computer Associates (CA).
  • Mainframe Systems Programming: Extensive experience required.
  • z/OS Knowledge: Proficient in SMP E, TSO, ISPF, USS, SDSF, and JCL.
  • IBM and CA Products: Ability to work independently.
  • Problem Solving: Excellent problem determination skills and a team player.
  • Goal Achievement: Ability to set and exceed short, medium, and long-term goals.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to a wide range of audiences.
  • Networking: Build relationships and networks across business areas.
  • Business Planning: Experience creating and deploying comprehensive business operating plans.
  • Risk Management: Strong understanding of risk management and regulatory compliance.

Additional (Not Essential) Skills:

  • Assembler Automation
  • GDPS, Rexx, and CLIST skills
  • Proficiency in Top Secret
  • Performance Monitoring: Experience with Omegamon, RMF, SMF, and SAS.
