Are you a Year 2 Teacher looking to secure a new position in September?

This is an 'Improving' CE Primary School located on the outskirts of Nelson, Lancashire. This one form entry school are moving from strength to strength to raise pupil attainment across school and are seeking an experienced Year 2 teacher to join the team. The school became an academy and has since moved from strength to strength with the multi academy trust support and guidance. There is a new Head Teacher in post, who has taken the senior leadership team in hand and created a family like feel to ensure they are all working together.

There is a higher than average proportion of disadvantaged pupils, and those who are eligible for support through the pupil premium, higher in school than the surrounding areas. There are several pupils now attending school for whom English is an additional language. Parents work together with the school as a community to ensure the pupils gain the best from their learning and social development.

The school is looking to recruit a Key Stage 1 Teacher with extensive experience teaching in Year 2. The ideal teacher will plan engaging and creative lessons to ensure all pupils reach their potential. This is a full-time position and will require the successful candidate to work from 8.45am until 3.30pm every day, this will also be including a half an hour lunch time supervision duty. You will be required to plan, deliver and assess all aspects of the Year 2 National Curriculum to a mixed ability class of 28 Year 2 pupils. There is also two SSA's in class one of which provides 1:1 support for a pupil with an EHCP.

The position is to start from September 2018 and run through until at least Christmas 2018, at which point the school will be looking to take the successful candidate onto a full time, perm contract.

The school is located on the outskirts of Nelson, easily accessible from Junction 10 and 11 of the M65, and a variety of public transport links.
