Person: Seeking experience at Warehouse Operational Management level. Retail - Food Distribution experience is an preferred.
Role: As Warehouse Shift Manager you will take operational control of a large warehouse team and have a minimum of 3 direct reports also working alongside the transport department. Ensuring KPIs and service levels are consistently achieved and driving continuous improvement to create a more efficient and effective distribution centre.
You will motivate and manage your team, focusing on driving employee engagement and continuous improvement via change management across site.
o Responsible for the health, safety and welfare of all colleagues across the business.
o Manage an Operational function on a daily basis to achieve effective and efficient operations with excellent standards of service.
o Provide efficiency and performance through outstanding people management skills.
o Focus on areas such as development and engagement of department team
o Management of an Operational function, ensuring strong decision making to deliver efficient and effective service
o Build and motivate the team, including recruitment, performance management and ongoing team development.
o Responsible for the control of Health & Safety, ensuring that all procedures are adhered to
o Identify, propose and manage resources for the Operational function to deliver its objectives
o Achievement of the Operational KPI's such as productivity, quality, stock integrity, service and attendance
o Ensure compliance and conformance to all legislative and company policy
o Complete all reports as requested by the General Manager, management team and Customer in a professional and timely manner
o Review, resolve and report any specific performance issues or complaints regarding service levels from the customer or other areas
o Identify opportunities for improved efficiencies within the operation, recommending and implementing changes
o Lead Team Manager teams and optimise day-to-day performance, including shift sections and shift briefings so that business targets are met or exceeded
o Lead and support the Team in creating and delivering great communications to provide everyone with a two way information flow
o Produce accurate period commentaries, daily and weekly KPI's ensuring they are distributed on time
o Monitor resource, recruitment and deployment of resource where required, including seasonal planning
o Responsible for KPI targets in the Operation to ensure a cost efficient and service focused department
o Create a culture of engagement and inclusion within the operation and across the site
o Identify opportunities for improved efficiencies within the operation, recommending and implementing change
o Develop Team Managers ensuring all employees are regularly appraised and provided with ongoing constructive feedback on performance
o Manage direct reports including performance review, performance management and career development
