We At Adecco Recruitment are recruiting for a VISITOR SERVICES ASSISTANT to work in Coleford, Forest of Dean. starting Mid March.

Start date: Mid March.
Duration: 7 month contract (March - October)
Working hours: 37 per week / 09:00AM - 4:30PM
days required to work: 5 days per week
Pay rate: £8.23 P/H


Purpose of the Job

To work within the team to provide excellent customer service and maintain recreation facilities to a high standard. The successful applicant will be expected to work weekends, bank holidays and school holidays when the majority of our visitors come to the Forest.

Key Work Areas

1.Customer Service, Public Engagement and Facility Supervision
You will be working in a public facing role and expected to demonstrate excellent customer service skills. You will often be the first point of contact for visitors and expected to answer enquiries and deal with any issues that arise with the day to day running of the site such as first aid response and maintenance of services and facilities (toilets, car park machines, litter collection etc.)
Car parking - Pay and display car park compliance checks and enforcement.
Carrying out visitor surveys at the recreation sites and compiling figures and written reports.

2.Cash Handling, Record Keeping and Digital Marketing
You will be expected to handle small amounts of cash from sales that take place in the ranger's office and keep records of transactions, as well as car park figures, toilet inspections, waste management issues etc. You will need to have competent numeracy and computer skills and be familiar with common software packages such as the Microsoft Office Suite and Internet Explorer.
The ability to converse at ease with customers in accurate spoken and written English is essential for the post
Person Specification
Experience and Professional/Technical Expertise

Previous experience in a customer facing role delivering a quality service to a diverse customer base.

A proven track record in undertaking daily maintenance tasks to a high standard and identifying and acting upon health and safety issues identified.


Experience of receiving and handling cash in an accurate and secure manner would be an advantage, but is not essential.


A current recognised first aid qualification is desirable.


The duties of this post require the applicant to have a full current driving licence that enables them to drive in the UK. However, the client is willing to consider any proposals put forward by applicants that would allow them to do the job by other means.
