Reporting to the Transport Team Manager you will be responsible for supporting the team with task delivery:

  • Manage productivity and efficiency within the fleet operation
  • Communicate and review operational requirements in light of any network changes
  • Provide training and development opportunities for those individuals who wish to assume additional responsibilities and build on succession plans
  • Create and maintain an environment which encourages employee participation and effective team working
  • Ensure that the fleet operation runs smoothly and efficiently at all times and that service to our customers is high quality
  • Monitor operational KPIs, ensuring that they are continually improved upon in methods, procedures and efficiency
  • Deliver high standards of vehicle maintenance and full compliance to all company and legislative health & safety requirements
  • Manage all vehicles and manual handling equipment effectively and within budget

Your skills and experience

  • Excellent logistics management experience in a fast-moving, multi-customer environment
  • Strong people management skills, including the ability to enthuse and motivate
  • Drive and determination to deliver continuous improvement
  • Exposure to operating in a commercial environment and a strong customer service bias
  • All-round knowledge of health & safety at work (IOSH qualification desirable)
  • International CPC qualification (desirable)
  • PC Skills: Microsoft office
