Job Title: Transport and Planning Manager
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 (DOE)
Location: Hertford
Contract: Permanent, Full Time    
Hours: 45 hours a week, between 7am-7pm

An exciting opportunity to work for an established Farm that provides services for the agricultural, construction, sports amenities & biomass sectors based in Hertford. Our client is seeking a Transport and Planning Manager to support the daily running of the business and be a part of their successful team on a long-term basis.

SKILLS REQUIRED
 
·HGV Licence.
·Transport planning experience.
·Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
·Telehandler/Forklift ticket
·Proven experience in transport management and lorry driving.
·Strong knowledge of transportation laws, regulations, and safety standards.
·Strong leadership and communication abilities to effectively manage a team.
·Ability to solve problems efficiently and make sound decisions under pressure.
·Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects.
·Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
 
RESPONSIBILITES
·Develop and implement transportation strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure smooth operations and achieve organizational objectives.
·Plan and coordinate the daily schedules of drivers and vehicles to optimize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
·Monitor the performance of drivers, their hours and enforce adherence to company policies, safety regulations, legal requirements and infringements.
·Ensure compliance with transportation laws and regulations, including driver hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and licensing.
·Creating haulage invoices for the transport administrator.
·Maintain and develop a positive Health & Safety culture throughout site.
·Inducting new drivers / training plans.
·Co-ordinate emergency repairs of lorries.
·Plan and coordinate the daily schedules of drivers and vehicles to optimize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
·Planning the most efficient route for drivers, keeping empty miles to a minimum.
·Liaise with on-site fitter regarding lorry 6 weeklies and repairs.
·Lorry administration to be completed with high levels of accuracy.
·Creating haulage quotations for new and existing customers.
·Operate company-owned lorries to transport goods and materials to designated locations safely and efficiently.
·Follow assigned routes and schedules, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.
·Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage or accidents.
