Job Title: Trainee Field Engineer (Laboratory Equipment)

Salary: £16,000 - £20,000 + Benefits

Location: Cambridge

Alecto Recruitment are currently working closely with a market leader in the Lab industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to get into the Lab or Medical industry, or even someone already in the industry looking for something new who is happy to be site based until product trained and then sent out into the world of Field Service Engineering.

The Details

With this Market leader expanding, their planned growth now requires them to bring in a Repair/Trainee Field Engineer into the company. Whilst you are learning the ropes and gaining experience on the equipment you will be working on, you will spend most of your time in the workshop learning and training. Once trained you will spend more time at customer sites calibrating and repairing equipment as you become a Field based Engineer.

The amount of time you spend on each site could vary from week to week depending whether there are multiple unites on site or not. There will be time spent away from home 'In the Field' in this position.


  • Recognised Electrical/Mechanical Qualification
  • Software Application experience highly advantageous
  • Knowledge of Laboratory equipment desirable
  • Good IT Skills
  • A Full UK Driving License
  • Be prepared to travel across the UK
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • A desire to make the difference
