This is a new Accountant / Finance Manager role supporting the Finance Director of an excellent education centre on the Hampshire / Surrey border. Currently going through a period of expansion and following on from a recent multi-million pound capital investment project, this will be an exciting time to join the organisation.
Hours of work are 8:30am to 4.30pm (could be some flexibility on that though) and you will be required to work 42 weeks of the year. The role offers considerable variety and the benefits package includes a very generous pension scheme, medical cover and free parking. Full-time equivalent salary is to c£39K, and the pro rata salary is to c£32K.
Responsibilities will include:
Preparation of monthly management accounts
Balance sheet reconciliations
Processing accruals, prepayments, deferred/accrued income
Providing reports to budget holders
Cash flow Forecasting
Payroll control accounts (the payroll itself is outsourced)
Monthly Creditors and Debtors control reconciliations & review
Assisting the Finance Director with the preparation of budget plans
Maintaining the Fixed Asset Registers
The successful candidate is likely to be a part-qualified or ‘QBE / qualified by experience’ Accountant. The role could also suit a qualified Accounting Technician (AAT). Applications from candidates who started a professional qualification (e.g. ACCA or CIMA) but did not complete their studies are also very welcome. Experience of producing monthly accounts (knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments etc.) is essential. And excellent spreadsheet skills (vlookups and pivot tables) are also required.
