3 month Category Manager required within the professional services category - remote working for now.
Your new company
I am recruiting for an industry leading healthcare provider in Central London who are looking to appoint a 3 month temporary support for their Procurement function in a Category Manager capacity. This role will be remote working until told otherwise, so IT equipment will be issued ahead of start date.
Your new role
As the Procurement Category Manager you will be responsible for creating and developing the category strategy for services such as consultancies, insurance, recruitment, facilities, and perhaps medical consumables where necessary. This is a Junior Category Manager position, so they are not looking for a finished article, more someone who can step into the role. You will manage whole cost of ownership and you will proactively lead the relationship with your suppliers including service management and risk mitigation. You will ensure that your procurement strategies align to the wider organisational objectives and escalate projects where required.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will have prior experience supporting a procurement team in a category management capacity and have the thought leadership to lead strategies and get the best out of your suppliers. You will be a proven negotiator and be able to demonstrate examples where you have developed negotiation plans.
What you'll get in return
In return you will support an important supply chain function initially for 3 months, with possible extension afterwards. This role is working from home until further notice.
