Opportunity

Ford & Stanley are looking for a high-level rail Technician to become a Project Support Engineer. This opportunity will provide a partial move away from the tools, taking on more responsibility and a step into a dual role both on the tools and office based.

This could also be a great opportunity for an experienced engineer from out of the rail industry with excellent knowledge of root cause analysis to bring new ideas and thinking to the team.

Situation

The Project Support Engineer will report into and support the Performance Engineer who is responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of the fleet. The Project Support Engineer assist this through expert analysis of fault trends, identifying issues, diagnosing causes, coming up with workable solutions and putting those solutions into practise.

Root cause analysis and an inquisitive engineering mindset are essential requirements for the successful candidate, so knowledge of root cause analysis tools such as 5Y / Kaizan / Fishbone or 8D will be evident in their day-to-day activities.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours a week
Flexible working hours - Days
No nights or weekends required

Essential Criteria 

  • L3 minimum engineering qualification 
  • Candidate will be a high level tech skill set with desire to progress into office / tools split job
  • Strong data driven approach

Desirable Criteria 

  • Rail experience
  • HNC/HND qualification
