The Situation Currently going through a period of significant growth with an extremely full order book this business are looking to train and develop the next generation of rail/ rolling stock professionals who are keen to see long term success within a growing and profitable business. They have significant investment being made into their current site, with plans for further transformation and development of the facilities and workshops. They require a team of vehicle builders with a range of skill sets to complete various modifications and overhaul projects on the UK’s Rolling Stock fleets. The Role Removal of all interior components, including seats, flooring/ carpets, piping etc. Refitting of all components - Seats, Grab Rails, Poles etc Work from written instruction (VMI) Work from Mechanical Engineering drawings working to specific measurements Replacing mechanical components to correspond to engineering drawings The Candidate The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, looking to develop their current skillset with a view to further their career in the UK rail industry. You will either already work in the Rail industry and be looking to join a business that can offer you further development, or you will be working in an industry with transferable skills and be looking to take the leap into a career in Rail.&nbsp; Experience or abilities in the below: Experienced using torque tools. Ability to read and understand technical drawings and instructions. Ability to use various power tools such as a monobolt gun and rivet gun. Experience performing safety critical tasks. Experience cutting and laying flooring/ floor coverings. They require a team of Paint Sprayers to complete top quality paint finishes on the Rolling Stock overhauls, vital to ensure successful vehicle hand back with customers. The Role Application of water-based paint systems including primer’s and topcoats Mixing of paint system Preparation of vehicles/components including filler work and use of DA sanders. Mask interior/exterior of vehicles and components Carrying out spot repairs Carry out repairs/reworking of defects. The Candidate The ideal candidate will be looking to develop their current skillset with a view to further their career in the UK rail industry. Essential Experience in application of water-based paint systems including primer’s and topcoats Able to use viscosity cups for mixing of paint system Experience and knowledge in the use of gravity fed spray guns and pressure pots. This includes set up, cleaning and maintenance of equipment. Understanding of Technical and Safety data sheets Experience in railway or commercial spray painting environment. Experience in preparation of large vehicles/components including filler work and use of DA sanders. Able to accurately and efficiently mask interior/exterior of vehicles and components to high standard. Able to read livery drawings and schedule of finishes. Desirable Experience in carrying out spot repairs Able to use polishing machines to carry out repairs/reworking of defects. Paint Sprayer

Mechanical Technicians required to carry out maintenance and repairs of Freight Wagons Vehicles. Your New Opportunity You will have a great opportunity of building your skills on safety critical rail vehicles, carrying out maintenance and repairs to a large fleet of vehicles such as locomotive and wagons. Your New Organisation You will have a fantastic opportunity to work for the UK’s largest rail freight company who are responsible for transporting everything from Cereals to Petroleum and steel. You will work out of the site in Doncaster where hundreds of trains are maintained yearly. The Candidate You will be comfortable with maintenance procedures of mechanical components such as brakes, suspension and wheelsets. You will understand mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic principles. You will be able to complete engineering instructions, follow strict guidelines and work to written specifications set by our client on how they wish for their rail vehicles to be maintained. As part of the above there will be full training on the systems and procedures that you will be required to carry out. Essential You will need to have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in order to qualify for this role, this doesn't have to be a rail specific NVQ but will need to be one of a mechanical engineering based nature. The Opportunity This is a fantastic opportunity to work on the brand-new, state of the art 197 fleet of trains conducting 30-day maintenance exams and storage exams. Location (s): Crewe Depot, with travel to Telford required using a company vehicle during working hours (approx. 2-3 times per week). Hours: 40 hours per week (days) Monday to Friday (occasional OT may be available on Saturdays) Role and Responsibilities: Carrying out maintenance exams Carrying out storage exams Troubleshooting using electrical schematics, test equipment, and diagnostic software Fault finding and root cause analysis on electrical and electronic systems.
