An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Learning and Development Management team as the Technical Training Delivery Manager.
Reporting to the Head of Learning and Development you will be responsible for ensuring all technical training requirements and are effectively and efficiently delivering within agreed budget. This includes, but is not restricted to, the delivery of all craft and authorisation training, apprentice and trainee programmes, health & safety training, street lighting as well as generation and metering training (including the current Meter Installer Programme where circa 1000 new joiners will be trained over the next 3 years). You will manage this large annual programme through external contracts and internal teams who work across a number of training locations across the UK including our clients Training Centres in Thatcham, Perth and Treforest
The successful candidate will have extensive management experience and a proven track record of running Training Centres and delivering large scale programmes. You will work closely with the business and HR Business Partners to deliver high quality tailored and volume based training programmes for technical related activities, whilst embedding a team culture that puts the customer at the heart of everything we do.
You will champion an innovative approach to L&D delivery from within the classroom / workshop as well as adopting a blended learning approach coupled with the associated strong governance and quality controls required to ensure that an excellent candidate experience and customer service is delivered at all times.
Good business acumen will be required to ensure value is driven through the L&D provision you deliver. As such a continuous improvement and commercial approach will be essential as will an emphasis on effective supplier relationship management. You will also be required to drive efficiency through detailed planning and programming whilst ensuring solid financial performance is attained. This will lead to the delivery of sustainable performance outcomes that provide a return on investment for the business.
The Training Delivery Manager will lead, develop and grow the skills and capability of the team through effective coaching and performance management and drive success by empowering teams in line with the leadership blueprint, therefore excellent communication skills are required.
