Technical Change Manager - Payroll

Up to £45,000 + company benefits


Our Client, a leading organisation within the technology and consultancy sector is currently seeking a Technical Change Manager to join their team on a full time, permanent basis in Peterborough. You would take responsibility for leading the Change and Compliance team dedicated to servicing an assigned client and the Operations team. You will ensure all changes are delivered within agreed SLAs and the payroll operating framework is practiced in a compliant and risk adverse manner.

You will be an experienced Payroll professional with a strong change management bias looking for a role within a forward thinking and established organisation.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Scoping and costing change requirements outside of BAU activity
  • Regularly attending the Change Advisory Board and Operations management meetings
  • Providing MI on contractual IT SLA delivery and system performance
  • Delivering and understanding system improvements and enhancements in line with agreed objectives
  • Delivering systems, testing, releases, upgrades, uploads and interface monitoring
  • Completing testing and reporting in accordance with contractual requirements
  • Managing system performance and escalations of issues to the Client’s satisfaction
  • Providing detailed feedback on issues and priorities raised by Operations
  • Consistently reviewing incidents and changes to identify trends
  • Educating Operations staff around process
  • Supporting the smooth delivery of Tax Year End
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to improve the service delivered and implementing these changes
  • Delivering root cause analysis reports for major incidents
  • Continued assessment of Payroll Operational Risks, ensuring compliance of service delivery

Skills and experience:

  • Experience of processing compliant payrolls within an operating framework
  • Extensive change management experience
  • IT service management experience in an outsourced or commercial service delivery environment
  • Knowledge of ITIL service management practices - ITIL qualifications ideal but not essential
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Business, technical and financial awareness
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to make decisions without guidance
  • Influencing and negotiating skills
  • IT support experience with ResourceLink or similar Payroll software ideal
  • Project Management experience ideal
  • Demonstrable results in SLA metrics and measures
