Technical Business Analyst

Our talented BA team are continuing to grow and we are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join the team, focusing on an exciting new project that has arisen! This role will be an initial 12 month FTC with potential to go permanent.

As a Technical Business Analyst we will require a minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience using Agile processes (SCRUM and Kanban), along with sound knowledge of software development platforms and processes.

The role requires producing requirements in the form of User Stories, in a precise and clear manner that can be understood by technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.

Key tasks as a Business Analyst:

  • Being a point of contact for in-house systems development
  • Detailed knowledge of the SDLC life cycle - particularly SCRUM and Kanban
  • Excellent knowledge of Agile tools including Jira and Confluence
  • Run planning and estimation workshops with Software Development, Test and Operations teams
  • Collaborate daily with software development, test and operations teams to help drive delivery of projects
  • Participate in daily stand up meetings to provide information and updates to team
  • Responsible for producing User Stories in a clear and precise manor with acceptance criteria
  • Select and advise on priorities functionality and requirements for software development team
  • Reasonable knowledge of software architectures - including REST, SOAP and SOA covering both desktop and web applications
  • Reasonable knowledge of software development platforms and their capabilities - .NET, SQL and Progress
  • Reasonable knowledge of data transfer methods - including SFTP, XML and JSON
  • Responsible for creating and updating IT development requirements within the JIRA system for approval
  • Responsible for performing User Acceptance Testing to verify functionality matches requirements prior to any software release
  • To liaise with support functions to ascertain core system requirements for business change
  • Supporting the Senior Management Team in programme management and any other operational / strategic undertaking.

The ideal candidate:

  • At least 2 years’ operating as a Business Analyst within an Agile based environment (preferably Kanban)
  • Expert knowledge of Jira and Confluence
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders
  • Reasonable knowledge of software development platforms (Progress, .NET, SQL)
  • Reasonable knowledge of software architectures - e.g. SOA

Salary: £Competitive

Hours: 09:00 to 17:30 Monday to Friday

Hybrid working information:

This role will be hybrid working with some visits to the office. You must be in commutable distance to our office in Reigate, Surrey.
