Tradewind are recruiting! Are you a qualified teacher of Drama looking for an exciting new supply role?

Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a specialist Drama teacher to support a prestigious private school located in the Manchester city centre.

This is a temporary supply teaching role to cover an absent Drama teacher on an ad hoc part time basis from 27th November on an ongoing temporary basis.

The Role

Teacher of Drama, key stage 3 , iGCSE and A level ( Edexcel Pearson specification)

Timetable is

Monday 8.30 am - 4.30 pm ( 2 hour lunch break)

Tuesday 8.30 am - 4.30 pm ( 2 hour lunch break)

Wednesday 8.30am to 12.30pm

Friday 8.30 am - 4.30 pm ( 2 hour lunch break)

Students study the following topics

  • improvisation
  • entering into other lives and situations
  • engaging with life issues, knowledge and themes through drama
  • honing and shaping drama scenes for the purpose of communicating them to others
  • living through a story, making it up as they go along, solving problems in the real and fictional worlds, co-operating with others, and sharing ideas
  • Cambridge iGCSE has a large practical element of 60% and demands that students are at ease with group exploration and presenting their work to the class.
  • Edexcel Pearson A level Drama and theatre course follows on from topics learnt in Key stage 3 and iGCSE.

As the sole drama teacher in a small school an excellent knowledge of Drama teaching is essential.

(For this reason, this role is not suitable for an ECT)

Students aged 8 to 16 study music and performance alongside core subjects such as English, maths science and humanities.

The school's focus is on academic achievement through the disciplined study of music.

While many students go on to achieve in the arts, many go on to successful careers in other areas.

Hold QTS Status or QTLS.

This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks.

Provide a CV with a full employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained.

Have the legal right to work in the UK with no restrictions.

Ideally, live within a short commute of Manchester city centre - able to work on a supply basis with an hour's notice to attend a booking.
