Tax Advisory Manager

This well-established Manchester based tax-focused general practice who have a long history of supporting a range of clients across the North West and the wider UK employ over 75 staff covering key service lines such as taxation, advisory, accounts/bookkeeping and audit. Unlike other single office independents across the North West this firm has a unique portfolio of clients ranging from start-ups and SME/OMBs to large-scale multi-million turnover businesses. A supportive firm, they offer good progression with a young and energetic partnership who want to continue to grow the practice organically and service clients in the right way. The firm are looking to hire a Tax Advisory Manager to join their successful team.

Your new role
This is a new addition to the taxation team in Manchester, with this key strategic hire being brought in to handle tax advisory work for the firm. The current tax service line consists of 7 tax advisers and you will be working alongside an experienced Tax Advisory Senior Manager and Tax Advisory Semi Senior supporting a variety of business owners and entrepreneurs. You will have your own portfolio of clients and get involved with anything from mergers, restructuring, IHT planning, capital gains, trust planning, non-dom queries and share schemes/incentives to name a few. This is a varied advisory role where your exposure to different types of tax advisory / planning work will be similar to that of a Big 4 or Top 10/20 accountancy practice.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this job opportunity you need to come from a tax advisory or tax planning background having had experience with UK businesses, entrepreneurs or HNWIs in the past 3-5 years. You will be qualified having either gained a CTA/ATT/ACA/ACCA and be confidently able to work with a complex and varied client base. This firm is open to looking at options from a more general compliance background but you must have had some exposure to tax advisory/tax planning work during your career. This role would suit either an experienced Manager who is not getting the balance of advisory work in their current firm or an aspiring Assistant Manager who wants to take a step-up.
