Systems Engineer (Automotive Electronics) Salary Neg. Perm Position

Our customer is a blue chip manufacturer of automotive electronics and looking for a Systems Engineer for its Milton Keynes office

Working as part of a team, to provide electronic, electrical, software and systems integration expertise to support the development of product specifications with the customer and liaise with design teams in Far East, Asia and Europe to convert the specifications into designs.

• Dealing with the customers on an external level

• Liaising with internal departments globally

• Liaising with Tier 1 suppliers

• Working as part of project team internally with a Programme Manager and Mechanical Engineer

• Develop a good understanding of the customer’s development process and quality requirements

• Design, implement and validate test equipment to allow the company products to be tested in the UK

• Be responsible to ensure company personnel are trained to use test equipment

• Support the integration of the product at the customer and Tier One suppliers

• Support customer based validation activities

• Support the local testing of development samples

• Support the customer to resolve issues arising in production both directly and through liaison with company based production facilities in the Far East and Europe


• A levels or equivalent in English, Maths and Sciences

• Degree in Electronics or degree with significant Electronic content or HNC/HND with several years experience of working in a suitable/relevant business environment


• System integration with OEM

• Automotive or industry with similar development process

• Electrical and mechanical systems

• Software/firmware development and testing

• Hands on design, build and test of one-off electronic assemblies

• Working for a non UK owned organisation



• Understanding of automotive product environmental constraint

• Understanding of technical documentation and terminology


• Confident and competent in front of customer

• Excellent communication skills

• Able to present in a skilful, confident and competent manner

• Able to work on own initiative

• Able to operate Word, Excel and email


• Team player

• Flexibility in working hours

• Ability to travel within UK and globally
