Hours:                             35 hours per week

Salary:                             £8.80

Information:                   This role is shift work. Driver, full UK driving licence, is required for driving company vehicles, including mini buses.

What do our Support Workers do?

Penny Meadows offers the people we support the opportunity to look after our small animals (Ducks, chickens and rabbits) on site or visit our small holding to look after our alpacas, donkeys and sheep. We also offer other workshops which include Creative Crafts, Horticulture, Mini Enterprise, Forest school and woodland activities, swimming, keep fit, Yoga, Martial Arts and Sensory & Music to name a few.

This position is 5 days a week 9am – 4pm within the Day Service. These days may change week by week, as we require staff to work some Saturdays for our ‘Activity Day Out’ supporting people to access a variety of exciting activities in and around the local area. 

Your duties will be varied and no two days will be the same.  You'll be supporting the personalised development of each day service attendee, recognising talent, sensitivities and beliefs, respecting the dignity and individuality of each individual and providing the attendees with choice where appropriate.  You'll also facilitate daytime activity session groups and lead outreach training within the day facility and the local area.

What experience do you need?

Some experience as either a learning support or teaching assistant, or in special needs would be an added bonus, but we have a fantastic in-house training team who can help you along if you are taking your first steps in your career. If you are caring, kind and want to work in a job that is genuinely rewarding, this is for you. Level 2 in Health and Social Care would be preferred or happy to undertake the training

You’ll need to have great communication skills and be comfortable making decisions. A basic level of English and Math is also required.
