SQL BI Developer / Telemetry Engineer

What is the purpose of the role?
This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of the team ensuring the delivery of 1.24 billion litres of drinking water per day across one of England's largest counties.
The role requires someone who can quickly understand the management of large volumes of data from thousands of measuring instruments and detectors across the county. With an accurate record of the past the business can accurately model the future, for example highlighting potential issues due to weather conditions or infrastructure requiring essential maintenance.
This development and analysis role will be instrumental in not only data configuration but also resolving the challenges posed by introducing many different types and formats of data into a single system.
What will the role involve?
In your role, you will be working alongside a team of engineers, analysts, technical leads and an architect to create new telemetry configurations and end to end testing of telemetered data from remote assets back to central systems.
You will also support the development of new configuration standards, specifications, testing and major new projects.
What skills are we looking for?
A combination of one of more of the below, and a willingness to develop others - possessing all skills is NOT essential:
- Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
- Microsoft SharePoint
- Oracle SOA and BPM Suite
- Mobile Application development technologies
- Lotus Notes Development
- MS PowerShell (PowerShell ISE)
- OSI PI
- Ability to understand complex data models, SQL query tools, and Business Objects.
- Knowledge of Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA)
