Specialist Pharmacy Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered pharmacy technician to join the medicines optimisation team at Dorset CCG in a full-time permanent role (part-time, job share considered). We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic pharmacy technician to help support the medicines optimisation agenda by supporting and enhancing the delivery of communications, IT systems and the education agenda for pharmacy technicians. This will include working across the health community with the area prescribing committee, its working groups and the Dorset formulary.

Working with the other pharmacy technicians and pharmacists you will help to deliver the teams objectives to support Primary Care Networks (PCNs), build and sustaining relationships with pharmacists and GPs in PCNs to promote high quality and cost effective prescribing in primary care. You will help the team to communicate the medicines optimisation agenda across the Integrated Care System (ICS).

You will contribute to the development and implementation of the medicines optimisation strategy for the CCG and will be responsible for leading on agreed areas within the medicines optimisation team.

The ideal candidate will be a GPhC registered pharmacy technician with relevant experience in a primary care, hospital or community setting. You will be reliable and hardworking with excellent interpersonal/communication skills and the motivation to make a difference in medicines optimisation for the Dorset health community. We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience in digital transformation and enhancing communications through all media to maximise the delivery of the ICS medicines optimisation messages. In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have a passion to promote and deliver education to support student and registered pharmacy technicians.

We are a friendly team committed to delivering excellent medicines optimisation support to the Dorset ICS. The office base is in Dorchester, however there is the potential for a significant amount of home working. The role will require travel across the county.
