BES Utilities is an independently owned company, based in Lancashire. It is comprised of BES Commercial Gas Ltd, established 2002, and BES Commercial Electricity Ltd, established 2009. It aims to be the lead supplier of gas and electricity to small and medium enterprises, providing first rate utility services across the UK. Key to this vision is reducing the cost to serve and the Commercial Department is central to achieving this goal through its Pricing, Forecasting, Trading and Settlements teams. The immediate vacancy is within Settlements.
We are looking for someone to learn about the electricity industry and settlements. The type of person required for this role is someone who wants to find out why they are doing something and to want to fully understand the process. This is a fantastic opportunity with great career prospects, and the knowledge gained in this area is very sought after within the industry. All training will be provided, however previous relevant experience would be useful.
Role and responsibilities
Main duties include:
Exception management of data related to the registration of customers, the appointment of industry agents, the set-up of metering systems and the validation of customer usage.
Agent management of appointed industry agents, covering data collection, data aggregation and meter operation.
Interaction with the industry governance body (Elexon) and its weekly, monthly and quarterly reports aimed at monitoring/improving supplier and agent performance.
Interaction with internal teams including metering and billing.
Metering experience desirable.
