The Company

My client is one of the UK largest charities, caring for people with a terminal illness. They provide an invaluable service and support network through their 2000+ nurses. They have embarked on an important transformation over the last few years, with digital being the key focus.

This role is central to the continued development and growth of digital within the charity. The role covers the following key areas; SEO Strategy Development, Campaign and Content Strategy, Integrated Media Strategy, Analysis and Optimisation and SEO Consultancy.

Main Job Responsibilities:

  • Regularly audit the website and recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords, working closely with web product management, design and content teams
  • Ensure that all websites have been technically optimized to attract and engage visitors in the target audience
  • Work closely with the Social Media team to enhance the contribution of social activity and content to overall search rankings
  • Using Google Analytics / Google Webmaster Tools & Guidelines, and awareness of algorithm updates to continuously measure, report and make recommendations to enhance performance in search rankings
  • Manage the SEO budget maximising return on investment and effective integration with PCC activity
  • Work with the Digital, Creative Service and Technical teams to develop systems and protocols internally that ensure content is optimized across all platforms and user experiences (websites, mobile, social, video, blogs, etc.)
  • Work with the Digital team to set, and work to, performance indicators for SEO that are understood by key stakeholders and which complement overall marketing and business objectives
  • Work with Marketing, Content and Design teams to optimize copy and landing pages for search engine marketing
  • Develop and implement link building strategy in line with the Charity's communications strategy and goals

Key competencies and experience:

  • Expert user of Google Analytics and be proficient in other analytics software such as Adobe Analytics (Omniture), WebTrends, Tealeaf or IBM Digital Analytics (Coremetrics)
  • Significant experience of working in a cross-function digital environment alongside user experience, web developer and marketing colleagues
  • You will possess an analytical mind and be able to identify trends and patterns, solve problems and apply this analytical thinking to users' online journeys and brand experience
  • Excellent communication, negotiating and influencing skills
