BMR Solutions is currently looking to recruit a Senior Stores Person to work for our client who are based in the Bristol area.

Annual leave: 25 days per year + statutory bank holidays
Hours: 40 hours per week 7:30am - 4:00pm Monday to Friday, subject to workflow additional hours may be necessary from time to time.

Job description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our client for a motivated and diligent stores person. Reporting into the procurement manager, this role is ideal for a self-starter that can work on their own but also as part of a team. Excellent stakeholder management and attention to detail are expected from the role holder, whilst at the same time being able to uphold the company’s controls around stock.

Our client supplies hostile vehicle mitigation apparatus such as bollards, blockers, barriers and gates, as well as pedestrian turnstiles. It’s a growing market, and they are well placed to take advantage of the growth. They are a fast growth company with big ambitions, expecting to grow from £6m to £25m over the next three years. This role will therefore have progression as the company grows.

The ideal candidate will display the following characteristics:

·Previous experience of working in a similar role managing a stock control system in a warehouse / stores environment
·The ability to work with minimal supervision and meet set deadlines
·Computer literacy with previous stock management software is essential
·A methodical approach to work and a critical eye for detail
·A disciplined approach to following and enforcing all departmental procedures
·Well organized and focused on service delivery
·Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and multitask
·A good understanding of relevant ISO processes and expectations
·A clear understanding of relevant Health & Safety requirements
·A mindset of continuous improvement
·Holding a current Fork Lift truck License would be desirable

The day to day duties of this role include but are not limited to the following:

·To execute the accurate checking and receiving of stock using a computerised goods-in system
·Liaise with procurement department with regards to supplier returns and ensure accurate records are kept
·To proactively communicate with internal departments on a daily basis and to manage & record all outcomes
·Ensure all stock has a current part code and is located correctly throughout the facility
·To create and manage weekly cycle counts investigating any discrepancies
·Prepare and accurately administer stock requirements for receiving departments in a timely manner
·Prepare spares parcels correctly and on time for collection by courier companies
·Maintain effective stock control at all times and to ensure minimum and maximum stock thresholds are maintained at all times
·Prepare information for management reports as and when required
·Administer all paperwork and delivery notes in accordance with defined procedures
·Maintaining a structured and organized filing system
·Take a leading role in all stock take activities
·Return stock to suppliers for repairs and or exchange
·To comply with company H&S policies and carry out racking / equipment checks when required
·Periodically run reports within Clarity (WMS) to ensure good ‘housekeeping’
·Providing temporary cover in other areas of the business when reasonably requested
·Using the fork lift truck to move stock around the factory
·Ensure work environment is kept clean and tidy
