The Role:

The Investment Data Platform is a key part of M&G data capability. The team continues to develop the platform to meet the growing demands of M&G Investment teams, Clients and the Regulators. This dynamic team combines data expertise, Analysis and Engineering. The team develops capabilities across the Investment Management process and looks to enable insights and analytics to be created including Sustainability, Public and Privates assets and more broadly into Research and Regulatory capability. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with the right blend of engineering skills, data processing, and asset management domain knowledge. You will be involved in the design and development of a cloud native Investment Data platform with a team using agile development methodologies. Your key priorities will be to progress a market leading Investment Data Platform to meet increased demands across the investment teams, clients and regulators.

Key Accountabilities - you will be accountable for:
  • Contributing to the delivery of software that provides data sets to meet sustainability requirements across the Investment teams, clients & regulators that is designed, implemented and tested to the team's standards as per the SDLC.
  • Providing a quality service and product to customers and stakeholders, using skills built through significant practical experience or training.
  • Offering peer review and challenge within the team, to ensure we deliver the best solution every time.

Key Responsibilities and Working Environment - you will be:
  • Part of a team with a strong sense of product ownership and commitment to build scalable / extensible / robust software that provides re-usable data capabilities.
  • Working within established frameworks and procedures, with the freedom to interpret them to solve a range of problems.
  • Delivering outcomes that are clearly defined, using discretion over how to achieve them.
  • Making suggestions for improvements to the work of the team, based on previous experience and knowledge of similar situations.
  • Developing complete solutions to the end customer by participating in a cross functional team comprising of requirements gathering, data modelling, data integration, software engineering, testing and release oversight.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business and other teams across Investments Transformation and Technology.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience - you will have:
  • • Strong software engineering skills with expertise in some of the following programming languages: C#, SQL, Python, PowerShell, Java, JavaScript.
  • • Experience of contributing to the delivery of software in a team that uses Azure PAAS technologies, security and delivery via Azure DevOps.
  • • Proactivity and be a self-starter who can manage their own workload and can juggle multiple initiatives at the same time.
  • • Data exploration and analytical skills, that enable you to solve new problems and understand existing software through investigation.
  • • Some exposure to financial markets & asset management processes.
