Hours: 18.75 Hours per week

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

• Experience in undertaking research projects / clinical audits
• Significant recent and relevant clinical experience postregistration
• Previous experience providing a service to children and young people within a multi-disciplinary team
• Knowledge of current NHS and national priorities in relation to mental and emotional health and wellbeing of Children and Young People
• Experience of working with patients with severe and enduring mental illness
• Ability to meet the travel requirements of the post
• Current registration with appropriate professional body

In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of:

• Registration with the relevant Registration Body

Role responsibilities:

• Ensure that each referred patient and where necessary their family receives an individual specialist assessment, risk assessment and care plan and is the subject of regular evaluation which, wherever practicable is formulated in conjunction with the patient and/or their family.
• Provide specialist interventions for referred children and their families, within a therapeutic framework, both individually, with families and in groups. Also providing advice and support for other professionals as required.
• Establish and maintain supportive and therapeutic relationships with children and their families referred to the local Team.
• Act as the key worker for an identified caseload.
• Prepare assessments, treatment reports and discharge summaries, in accordance with local policies.
• Operate in any appropriate setting including hospital, primary care facilities, residential homes, schools and units and if appropriate the child’s own home youth service, etc.
• Promote knowledge of mental health and the prevention of mental ill health with children and members of the general public, both formally and informally.
