Senior Backend Engineer – Remote UK (Go)

Do you want to join the Future Mobility team and help to build the next generation of vehicle insurance products?

We’re looking for a driven and proactive Backend Engineer with an interest in risk management, vehicle telematics and data processing. This is a remote first role with the option to work from one of our global offices.

What the day will look like

The Cloud Engineering team use standard industry practice and believe in collaboration and freedom to work on a range of areas, throughout the day you will:

  • Work with UX, Product and other engineering teams to design and refine new features and products.
  • Develop and deploy a range of microservices and Lambdas in a mixture of real time and event driven processing to support multiple products within the Business.
  • Perform code reviews with a focus on knowledge sharing to cultivate a culture of continuous learning within the team.
  • Work to improve the application performance, scalability and maintainability.
  • Improve the team culture and processes in a collaborative manner.
  • Take ownership of your code from development to production deployment.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Wealth of experience working on backend systems
  • Experience with Go
  • Knowledge of Cloud Providers – AWS used within the company (Lambda, SQS, API Gateway, DynamoDB)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong automation mindset and a passion for root cause analysis
  • An eagerness to learn

Experience with Python, GraphQL, Kafka and K8s would be beneficial but isn’t required.
