Reed Finance are delighted to be partnering with a leading real estate firm within the student property sector, who are looking to recruit a technically sound, practice trained Senior Accountant.

The ideal candidate will lead in the review and preparation of management accounts, liaise with outsourced services, and support the Finance Manager in various accounting tasks.

This Senior Accountant role requires a proactive individual with a strong background in statutory accounting and consolidation as well as excellent communication skills.

Real Estate experience will be highly desirable as well as accounts preparation exposure.

Day to Day of this Senior Accountant role:

  • Lead the review of management accounts prepared by an outsourced company.
  • Prepare consolidated management accounts and ensure timely monthly submission to the parent company.
  • Liaise with the outsourced company to meet monthly reporting goals, including AP, AR, Bank, GL, and cashflows.
  • Oversee key balance sheet reconciliation and maintenance.
  • Support the production of year-end statutory accounts and financial statements.
  • Ensure oversight of bank reconciliations and payroll journal postings.
  • Prepare and post various month-end journals, maintain the fixed asset register, and manage cash flow forecasting.
  • Own and reconcile intercompany accounts.
  • Contribute to system maintenance and process improvement.
  • Liaise with operational staff to resolve finance issues and assist in financial planning and analysis work, including variance analysis.
  • Handle ad-hoc and administrative tasks as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant university degree in Accounting or a related professional qualification.
  • Qualified practice trained Accountant (ACA ideally), with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Hands-on experience with statutory accounting and month-end journals.
  • Consolidation experience
  • Exposure to working within the real estate sector or with real estate clients
  • Proficiency in performing reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of SAGE 300 is beneficial.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with all Microsoft Office packages.
  • Proactive, willing to learn and develop, and a strong team player with a can-do attitude.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
