SEND teaching assistant job in Preston Position commencing in September on a long term basis.
Your new school
You will be joining an oversubscribed school, with an excellent academic reputation that is well known throughout Preston.. The school places great emphasis on the development and educational progression of each of their students, and is focusing on expanding the SEND team. For this reason the school are now looking for an experienced TA who specialises in SEND to provide learning support during lessons.
Your new role
You will be providing support both on a one to one basis, and within small groups of students. You will be specifically working and supporting children with special needs, including autism, ADHD, physical impairment, and moderate learning difficulties. You will be expected to use a variety of learning techniques that will engage students, and help them to effectively complete specific work set.
What you'll need to succeed
You must be a graduate or a level 3 teaching assistant, combined with a relevant experience working with secondary school students who have special educational and learning needs. Furthermore you must also be able to efficiently prepare your own learning resources under guidance of the schools designated SENCO. You must be confident in your delivery of personal care, and be able to effectively communicate to both students and teachers alike.
