Your new company
Hays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with an Ofsted rated "Good" specialist SEN school in Chester that is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking to recruit several teaching assistants for long-term temporary placements. This school supports students across all year groups with complex Autistic Spectrum Disorders. Your new role
In your new role as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students on a 1:1 and group basis with complex autistic spectrum disorders. You will work under the instruction of class teachers to help provide a safe, engaging and stimulating learning environment and to promote positive behaviours. When the students present behaviours that challenge, you will take a holistic approach by identifying trigger points, using de-escalation and distraction techniques and taking the students out of the class if required. A large number of students within the school are non-verbal, so the use of PECs and Makaton will also be required.
