As a Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in preparing materials and equipment for practical science lessons, helping to foster a positive learning environment for students in their scientific education.

Position: Science Technician

Location: Trafford

Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (Potential to become Permanent)

Pay: £80 - £100 per day

Responsibilities:

• Prepare scientific materials, chemicals, and apparatus for experiments and demonstrations
• Arrange and dismantle laboratory equipment and apparatus as needed
• Ensure the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous substances
• Provide assistance to both teachers and students during practical science lessons
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in science laboratories and storage areas
• Perform regular maintenance and calibration tasks on scientific equipment

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a similar lab or science role
• A passion for science and a commitment to enhancing student education
• Knowledge of COSHH regulations and general procedures in a laboratory setting for safe practice
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one
