School Caretaker

Engage Education, a leading education recruitment agency, is currently seeking dedicated and experienced School Caretakers to join our lovely school in West Horsley, Surrey.

We offer various opportunities including temporary, long-term, temp-to-perm, and straight permanent vacancies within schools. If you have a background in facilities maintenance or experience working in educational settings, we want to hear from you.

This particular role is a temp to perm contract for 12 weeks, which is a great opportunity for someone to get their foot in the door with a lovely school and have the potential to secure a permanent contract.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of school premises, including classrooms, corridors, and outdoor areas.
• Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as repairing fixtures, fittings, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and undertake risk assessments as required.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of events and activities within the school.
• Act as a keyholder and respond to emergencies outside of regular hours when necessary.
• Work collaboratively with other staff members to create a positive and productive learning environment for students.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working in schools or a strong background in facilities maintenance.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to educational settings.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the school environment.
• Valid DBS clearance or willingness to undergo a DBS check.
