Key Responsibilities:

  • To plan and carry out all sales activities on assigned accounts or areas
  • Generate revenue by developing market potential through forecasting, lead generation, qualification, and closing sales; recommending new products and services
  • Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction and managing quality of product and service delivery

Core Duties:

  • To maintain or exceed financial targets set by the Managing Director and the Sales Manager whilst maintaining customer margin
  • To generate sales leads by customer, enquiries and projects to the required monthly target. Sources can be found via the internet, customer intelligence gathering, ABI Barbour, quotation feedback, trade press etc. (this list is not exhaustive)
  • To generate new prospects to the required target by following through self-generated leads. All prospects should be researched, credit checked and filed as per procedure
  • To generate new customers to the required target by following through self-generated leads
  • To maintain call rates for both new prospects and customers by following through self-generated leads and the existing customer base
  • To achieve the targeted contact, either by phone or customer meetings, with the customer/prospect subject to category type
  • To follow up all quotations from the quotation log after the initial contact by the estimator, making sure that target dates are maintained and conversion rates are met
  • To maintain the quotation log thereby keeping it up to date and making sure that all new information and target dates successes and losses are recorded
  • To identify nil spends and lapsed customer, contacting and bringing to a satisfactory conclusion
  • To issue Customer Satisfaction documents to identified customers and reporting back to the Sales Manager any negative feedback for discussion at the monthly meeting
  • Maintain KPI Matrix for monthly review with the Sales Manager, attend monthly KPI meeting to present documentary evidence of completion in compliance with all tasks and responsibilities
  • Reports weekly and monthly are to be submitted on time and to include further required paperwork such as Health Checks, Company Vehicle Checks, expenses etc
  • To maintain the electronic diary/CRM to include all activity such as customer visits, objectives, results of the visits, phones calls, emails and all activity when working from the office or home
  • Information is to be fed back to the MD and SM by way of the weekly/monthly report and to include details of the market, competitor activity, products and prices and price lists
  • Generate and qualify leads
  • Source and develop customer referrals
  • Assist with the preparation of sales action plans and strategies
  • Schedule sales activity
  • Develop and maintain a customer database
  • To comply with the Key Performance Indicators relevant to the role of Sales Representative and actively engage in the monthly KPI review process; to include producing the relevant evidence as required under the KPI process
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of sales and promotional materials
  • Support planning and direct marketing activities
  • Make sales calls to new and existing clients
  • Develop and make presentations of company products and services to current and potential clients
  • Negotiate with customers
  • Develop sales proposals
  • Prepare and present contracts
  • Conduct product training
  • Maintain sales activity records and prepare sales reports
  • Respond to sales inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically or in person
  • Ensure customer service satisfaction and good client relationships follow up sales activity

  • Monitor and report on sales activities and follow up for management
  • Carry out market research and surveys
  • Participate in sales events
  • Monitor competitors, market conditions and product development
