I am pleased and excited to again be working with one of my best, long-standing clients. Having worked closely with them for a number of years, and supplied a number of quality staff who are still working there, they now look for a highly experienced Sales Director to join the solid team and solid brand.
As a result of rapid growth we are looking for a Sales Director to manage the sales function of the business, driving the commercial results by growing new business, retention of our existing clients, and the expansion of our B2B and B2G model. The successful candidate will have developed their career via the sales route and been exposed heavily to a tender based environment.The team currently consists of 14 across Account Management & New Business with varying degrees of middle management included. Further hires are planned in 2019.
Providing effective leadership and strategic direction to the sales function, in order to achieve aggressive growth and profitability targets set out in the business plan
Oversee and manage a team of Sales and Account Manager personnel
In conjunction with the UK M.D., setting out the strategic direction of the business, identifying new revenue channels and alliance partners and to be proactive in bringing these to the table
Oversee the introduction and growth of partner channels from OEM and equipment providers working closely with European heads in a matrix structure.
Experience of managing and implementing change successfully, with the ability to communicate a clear, strategic sales vision, effectively training and coaching of the team is essential.
In conjunction with the sales function seek out major clients and form working relationships with our clients and prospects
Provide full commercial support to the bid process including the review of submissions and legal points and where necessary providing written input to bids
Accurately forecast future sales and forming sales plans to adapt to constant shifts in the market place.
Provide timely and accurate feedback on market intelligence, competitor activity, including pricing and promotions
Working closely with the supporting Group management functions (Product Management, IT, Software Engineering, Operations HR, Finance, Legal, Security & Compliance etc.) to ensure a smooth and cohesive collaboration with the sales function
Line management duties for your team that include amongst others recruiting ( in conjuction with our preferred recruiter) objectives setting, appraisals etc. Everything to do with successfully managing an ambitious team;
Monitor key deliverables in relation to agreed project plans as required.
Strategic review of current product range and identifying diversification opportunities through customer and supplier liaison and management
Attend major industry events, conferences, trade shows etc
Experience and Desirables
Experienced at running commercial teams that serve the public sector and B2B sales environment for both new business and account management as well as dealing with complex client contracts and tender processes at a senior level;
Operational experience where processes are key;
Strong P&L, cost centre management and budget management responsibility;
Understanding business process outsourcing solutions
Demonstrable experience of writing commercial contracts and proposals including government tenders;
Is familiar with B2B subscription models and scaling
Good interpersonal relationship skills and comfortable and communicating at all levels internally and externally;
Management experience at senior level in order to support and work with other members of staff at all levels;
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables in a highly energized and fast-paced environment where priorities often conflict;
Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail with an ability to interpret information to derive business outcomes or solutions;
Experienced at dealing with multi-layer supplier relationships where channel partnering is key
Strong drive, flexible, can do attitude;
Confident in board room situation with good presentation skills
Approachable and fun to work with;
Degree educated is a preference
