We have been asked by a specialist School in Mid-Herts to find them an experienced S.E.N Teacher for a primary class of eight pupils with a range of additional needs including physical, neurological and ASD. The class is a mixed group of Year 3, 4 and 5, and the school are seeking candidates who will commit to the school for a minimum of one term, however the leadership team would prefer to make a permanent appointment.
The School are looking for a teacher with;
• Qualified Teacher Status or QTLS with relevant experience of supporting children with S.E.N needs. An application from an outstanding NQT would be considered.
• Demonstrable confidence in assisting children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, including the use of Picture Exchange Communication software and other learning aids.
• A strong ability to plan differentiated activities that will encourage children to achieve to the best of their ability.
This is a Specialist S.E.N School providing alternative provisions for severely disabled children from across the County. Pupils at the School have a range of needs ranging from physical disabilities requiring the use of wheelchairs; non-verbal neurological conditions requiring communication software, and those with terminal illnesses. The Head Teacher has created a caring and supportive community, striving to provide the highest standards of education and care for their students; including dedicated personal care assistants, classroom support and effectively managed Educational Health Care Plans. This is a happy and successful school, and the children are positive and enthusiastic in their learning.
