Quality Manager - Automotive

I'm looking to recruit a Quality Manager for a tier 1 automotive manufacturer supplying into prestigious OEM's such as Aston Martin, Bentley, Ford and JLR to name but a few. As part of their long-term commitment to quality and succession planning, they are seeking to recruit a highly motivated Quality Manager. Duties will include managing QMS', dealing with customer concerns, supplier issues and plant quality.


Corby, Kettering, Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray, North Luffenham, Oadby, Oakham, Peterborough, South Luffenham, Stamford, Syston and Uppingham

THE ROLE: As a Quality Manager your duties will involve:

  • Maintain and update QMS' including ISO9001 and TS16949
  • Create quality documents and manuals in accordance to industry and customer specific standards
  • Drive change management activities
  • Heavily involved in promoting continuous improvement activities
  • Manage a small team of Quality Engineers and Inspectors
  • Asses skill set of existing staff and identify training needs as required
  • Take charge of employee development programmes
  • Promote right first time attitude focussing on proactive quality measures
  • Responsible for the cost of quality, scrap and rework
  • Oversee customer concerns and supplier quality - measuring progress made and deviations from expected levels of qualit
  • Utilise core quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, SPC, Control Plans and FMEA
  • Deploy 8D and 5Why to identify the root cause of errors
  • Work as part of the senior management team, with input in quarterly meetings, budgets and reviews
  • Set department KPI's
  • Heavily involved in NPI
  • Conduct internal and external audits

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal Quality Manager will have:

  • Proven track record of working in a similar role with the Automotive industry
  • Well versed with ISO9001 and TS16949
  • Strong management skills with the ability to motivate a large team which includes managers
  • Ability to offer solution to complex issues
  • Excellent communicator across all levels
  • Commercial acumen
  • Degree educated or equivalent
