Clinical Psychologist – Memory Assessment & Community Dementia Services
Salary: £44,606 - £50,819 pro-rata
Hours: 0.8 whole time equivalent (30 hours per week- * there may be the opportunity for extra sessions, please ask if required)
Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust have an exciting opportunity for an 8a Clinical Psychologist to work within our Memory Assessment and Community Dementia Service. The service offers assessment for people with a suspected diagnosis of dementia and bio-psycho social interventions for people with dementia and their families. The service is delivered by a strong and supportive multi-disciplinary team comprising of professionals from a range of backgrounds including Community Psychiatric Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychiatrists and Clinical Psychologists.
A vacancy has arisen within the team for a Clinical Psychologist.
Your role with us
You will ensure the systematic provision of a high quality specialist clinical psychology service to people with dementia and their families, across the memory assessment and community dementia pathways. Your role will include provision of specialist neuropsychological assessments, post diagnostic interventions, assessment and treatment of clients with dementia with complex presentations. Additionally, you may be required to provide input into service evaluations and audits, offer supervision to Assistant Psychologists, provide consultation to other professionals and teaching/training. Innovation and a creative approach are encouraged. We have a supportive department, with good relationships with colleagues in the wider multi-disciplinary team.
The successful applicant will join an existing team of Psychologists working in Dementia Services across Coventry and Warwickshire, including a Consultant Clinical Lead Psychologist, Principal Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists. You will be supported and expected to attend regular Trust wide Psychology meetings and undertake relevant CPD. You will also work closely with your Team Manager.
The position will be suitable for HCPC registered Clinical Psychologists. Those with a doctorate in counselling psychology will also be considered for the role . The post holder should be committed to working with people with dementia and their families and motivated to offer the best possible services. If the candidate is currently unqualified or with very limited experience in the area, then a development post will be considered in which the candidate would commence employment at a band 7 with a development plan to enable progression to 8a on successful completion. It is anticipated that it most cases this would occur within 2 years and will be dependent on previous experience.
