The role...

The Protective Intelligence Manager is responsible for leading and managing the RIC's Intelligence Analyst function to deliver customer-specific intelligence as part of our industry-leading 'intelligence as a service' offering. Customer-specific intelligence includes any requirements set by the customer to protect their people, property, assets, brand and reputation, supply chain etc. The primary focuses of this role and managing a team of analysts, and a portfolio of customers and intelligence products.

Additionally, the role is responsible for supporting the RIC's Intelligence Operations function in the delivery of intelligence relating to the global security and threat landscape, and supporting engagement with RIC Embedded Analysts.

The role is suited to someone with 5+ years' experience in intelligence, investigations, or a related field; direct experience in people and process management, intelligence operations, and fulfilling 'customer requirements' is essential.

Working within a dynamic and demanding environment, the role requires flexibility and agility, including mobilising on short notice to meet commercial requirements, and some evening and weekend work. Travel may be required to visit other Securitas entities and customers on occasion. Responsibilities will evolve over time, with opportunities for ongoing development and progression.

What you will do...
  • Management of the Intelligence Analyst function, including managing staff and resources to ensure effective delivery of customer-specific intelligence.
  • Direction of intelligence efforts (reactively and proactively), including identifying, prioritising, and tasking customer-specific intelligence requirements.
  • Lead client meetings with senior management both in person and on MS Teams, utilising strong communications skills
  • Manage intelligence Collection, including use of intelligence tools, and manual processes.
  • Manage Processing of intelligence into databases, forms, logs, systems, templates etc.
  • Manage and support intelligence Analysis using recognised intelligence techniques.
  • Manage, support and operate Production of finished intelligence products both proactively any in response to customer requests for intelligence (RFI), including (but not limited to) alerts, analysis (assessments, reports etc.) and investigations. This includes both written products and verbal presentations.
  • Manage Dissemination of intelligence products to stakeholders, including internally within Securitas, and commercially to customers, both in the UK and overseas.
  • Manage and drive operational excellence through ongoing Evaluation and Feedback of intelligence services, including maintaining the highest level of consistency and quality. Additionally, managing ongoing service development by maintaining awareness of innovation within intelligence to ensure implementation of latest techniques and tactics, best practice, and information relevant to the RIC.
  • Provide leadership and management to the RIC, providing mentoring/coaching, guidance, and support to staff in order to maximise their development, efficiency, and morale, and deliver an effective intelligence service.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Securitas organisation, including client facing staff and global colleagues.
  • Liaise and collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders, and agencies (both internally and externally) to build an intelligence community network.
  • Maintaining awareness of innovation within intelligence to develop and implement the latest techniques and tactics, best practice, and information relevant to the RIC and own self development.
  • Support the RIC in business development and commercial opportunities.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Director Risk Intelligence Center.
What you will need...

  • Strong decision-making skills, and ability to make decisions in context of business requirements and future vision.
  • Strong self motivation and discipline, able to work under own initiative, and interpret and apply guidance to set taskings and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of threat, vulnerability and risk assessments.
  • Working knowledge of open-source intelligence.
  • Be responsive and flexible to changing requirements and priorities and be able to adapt to unpredictable circumstances.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects at any one time, while remaining calm under pressure
  • Strong aptitude for analysis, a naturally enquiring mind, and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Manages self and others; ability to lead and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritise and plan own work and manage time effectively to meet objectives and deadlines, while remaining calm under pressure.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to listen to others and communicate research in order to ensure understanding.
  • Excellent report-writing skills, with consistent attention to detail as reports will be written for readers in the highest levels within corporate organisations.
  • Good team working skills demonstrating awareness of individual differences and providing support as required.
  • Able to proactively develop effective working relationships with colleagues, partners, and other stakeholders, at all levels.
  • Proficient in office software applications (i.e. MS Word, Excel etc.)
  • Continuously learn and be flexible to develop expertise in specific areas, using new systems. Willingness to undertake further formal training and development
  • Experience in Program / Project Management / knowledge of PMO advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to work with confidential information
