The Role

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a truly unique business restoring classic cars to the highest standards for more than 40 years.

Joining a team with exceptional knowledge and experience you will have primary responsibility for estimating complex restoration work, using your commercial knowledge to price and scope jobs provide great customer value.

You will build strong and trusted relationships inside and outside the business, quickly earning the respect of your colleagues. You will manage customer communication and expectations, understanding what they want and communicating what the team can deliver. You ensure customers understand the full scope of restoration options that are available and may be applicable to their vehicle.

In addition you will oversee production in the workshop, planning scheduling and flow and ensuring optimum work rates.

You will also have a mandate to implement change, working with, learning from and motivating an exceptionally knowledgeable and skilled team. You will ensure that they continue to deliver the superb workmanship for which they are renowned, as well as driving improved profit and overseeing innovative new projects including the production of electrically powered classic cars.

About You

With a passion and advanced knowledge of classic car restoration, you have had a stable and successful career as a Workshop Manager / Production Director either in a specialist classic car restoration environment or in a mainstream business. If you do come from a mainstream motor repair / body shop background - you restore classic cars as a hobby and would like to develop your career to encompass what you love.

You are highly commercial and understand how to accurately estimate complex restorations to protect margins, drive profitability and maintain competiveness.

You understand how a great workshop functions and will work with the team to optimise planning, scheduling and flow - driving efficiency without compromising the quality of the craftsmanship.

You are a highly skilled communicator, with great "soft skills" and quickly build strong relationships internally and externally. You are a quick learner and will welcome the opportunity to benefit from the skills and experience of the team and will understand that you will need their expertise to develop the knowledge to do your job effectively.

You have an appetite for change and innovation and can evidence a track record of implementing change, and an ability to motivate and inspire others to join you.

Is a world renowned classic car restoration business specialising in Morris Minors. They have a great history and a dedicated team who have a unique knowledge and passion for the cars they so lovingly restore.

This role is a key appointment for the business and the vacancy has come about because of a planned retirement. The business has great plans to build on its success - continuing to provide an exceptional restoration service as well as ongoing innovation including embracing green technology.
