Procurement Buyer role available in Central London working for leading transportation organisation.

My client are a leader within the transportation sector with a specific focus on improving the travel infrastructure across our thriving capital city, London. Having won a large scale project in the heart of the capital, they are looking for a Buyer to join their growing procurement team to support the function in Central London. This organisation are aiming to deliver operational excellence and a streamlined supply chain within the delivery of the project in order to complete this commuter project over the coming years. The head of Procurement is an exceptional individual who has won awards for her work within procurement, and has achieved a lot in a short space of time.
Your new role
As the Procurement Buyer, you will manage the suppliers across a range of categories, including monitoring supplier performance and contract review. You will be the go-to individual for key stakeholders across the business in order to identify internal requirements, ensuring needs are identified and delivered upon. You will then plan the sourcing activities in line with the requirements and produce regular reports on the status of the procurement process. This could incorporate anything and everything such as IT services, facilities, office supplies, recruitment, professional services etc.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will have previous experience across a procurement role and be a competent user of Microsoft packages such as Excel. If you have prior experience of using a procurement e-system this would be advantageous. You will be organised and have the desire to work within a proactive, fast paced procurement team.
