Job Title: Pressure Testing Engineer

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Location: Consett

As a Pressure Testing Engineer you will be responsible for carrying out and managing the pressure testing facility. You will design, cost, and prepare technical quotations and manage the manufacture of bespoke test frames for pressure testing. Your role will be hands-on, whilst also working with the Operations Manager and Business Development Manager in driving forward pressure testing and material testing activities, ensuring that all expectations on sales and profitability’s are realised.

As a Pressure Testing Engineer you’ll receive a salary of between £25,000 to £30,000 per annum depending on experience, you will also benefit from a retail discount scheme, life cover, and 23 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), increasing to 27 with service.

  • An understanding of hydraulic principles, including pressure and force calculations.
  • Knowledge of basic engineering principles
  • Excellent problem solving and lateral thinking skills.
  • Customer focused
  • A create thinker
  • A hands-on engineer or be willing to be actively involved in pressure testing activities.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • An understanding of hydraulic systems.


  • CAD Knowledge
  • Understanding of material testing services and types of tests
  • Computer literate
  • Graduate or equivalent.
