Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Practice Manager to take over the general management of a Top UK Law Firm who specialise in Criminal, Family and Child Care.
My client are looking for strong people management skills and they do still use the SQM/lexcel forms so some knowledge would be desired.
This is a 25% HR (including recruitment and appraisals) and 75% operations. My client have an admin department (team of 3) pro bono team (team of 8) and the helpline advisors (team of 16).

Your main duty will be to ensure that the business is supported, by organising and managing the smooth and efficient running of the office.
Working as part of the management team, the Practice Manager contributes to the development and implementation of business strategies, policies and practices.
You will support the Firm in achieving its targets in line with the current business plan.
You will be responsible for ensuring best practice in accordance with SRA and Legal Aid Agency regulations.
You will have overall responsibility for office management generally, regulatory compliance, recruitment, human resources invoicing, ensuring renewal of insurance policies and other responsibilities. You will contribute to marketing and have oversight of IT and premises management.
You will have the following:
* Previous experience as a Practice Manager within a law firm
* FRA Experience in Legal Aid is desirable
* Previous experience working within a SQM Attained firm
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

* Manage HR issues
* Ensure the smooth and effective running of the office
* Ensure compliance of corporate policies and processes
* think strategically as well as attention to detail where needed.
