Cloud Platform Engineer / Azure / Remote

The Role

An exciting opportunity to work in an industry leading pro audio company, that is looking to expand their Azure cloud platform. The successful candidate will be passionate about cloud-native technology and thrive on being at the cutting edge. A passion for live music and audio technology would be a bonus.

With our growing DevOps delivery team, the role of Cloud Platform Engineer is becoming increasingly important to provide a scalable, secure, high-availability cloud platform to support the growing needs of the business. The ideal candidate will be comfortable writing code to automate the management of large, distributed systems, and adept at resolving issues that arise in high-availability, mission-critical software projects.

Who you are

  • A proven professional, with at least 5 years' experience in a DevOps, R&D or Sysadmin role.
  • Passionate about producing beautiful, well-designed, easily maintainable, scalable cloud infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure - including DevOps, Pipelines, AKS, Cosmo DB, Storage and Front Door.
  • Experienced with Grafana Cloud and the associated technology stack (Prometheus, Loki etc.).
  • Excellent multilingual coding/scripting skills (e.g., Go/Python).
  • A strong grasp of automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Packer, Ansible etc.
  • Good communication skills, comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams within the business.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture and telemetry collection practices is a plus.
  • Relational/SQL and NoSQL database experience would be beneficial (e.g., PostgreSQL/MongoDB).

What the job involves

  • Support software delivery by managing cloud-based tools and systems according to the growing needs of the business.
  • Enhance efficiency and effectiveness of solutions in collaboration with engineers.
  • Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) patterns to accelerate software deployment.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the team to improve telemetry collection capabilities using Grafana Cloud.
  • Contribute to team's backlog and roadmap planning.
  • Collaborate on User Stories definition and requirement collection with internal customers.
  • Work in an agile manner to deliver value more frequently and effectively to users.
  • Retain a strong focus on business outcomes.
  • Consistently demonstrate best practice design and development techniques.
  • Seek to automate everything, and constantly improve operational processes.
